Singapore Arbitration Panel Declines Future Retail’s Bid To Exclude Itself From Ongoing Dispute With Amazon

Amazon caught up in dispute with Future and accuses company of breach of contract

The Singapore Arbitration Commission rejected Future Retail’s offer to exclude itself from the ongoing trade dispute with Amazon.com Inc. on Wednesday, according to the decision seen by Reuters.

Amazon has been at loggerheads with Future for months, accusing the company of breaking the deal when it sold its retail assets to market leader Reliance Industries in a $3.4 billion deal last year. In the future we will deny infidelity.

Future Retail should be barred from proceedings as Amazon filed a contract with another Future Group company after an arbitrator in Singapore withdrew the deal last year when he heard details of the matter. He insisted.

An unpublished order panel on Wednesday contradicted Future Group. The three agreements that underlie future-Amazon conflict groups should, as Future says, be read together, not separately.

The court is “responsible for the FRL in this arbitration”, says the decision on page 69.
