CHANDIGARH, 15 November (IANS) – Ridhima Dilawari, who won last week by a brilliant 6-under-66, will be looking for another solid result in Stage 15 of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Chandigarh Golf Club.
Ridhima, who qualified with a five-goal win at Panchkula last week, will again face tough challenges from the likes of Afshan Fatima and Gaurika Bishnoi. Afshan finished second last week after a long run while Gaurika, a top 10 finish at the Women’s Indian Open of the Ladies European Tour, was third despite 78 in the second round which she improved by 10 strokes on the final day of her third advance.
After a hiatus from WPGT, Avani Prashant is back after a while, a well-traveled and highly rated Indian amateur star who has had success in the past playing with the pros.
Sneha Singh, still in the hunt for his first pro title, will be looking to make up for last week’s disappointing 10th place finish. Another player hoping to get revenge for last week is the incredibly talented teenager Hitaashee Bakshi, who was up and down in the 14th leg where he finished fifth.
Hitaashee, who is currently second in the Hero’s Order of Merit, will try to maintain his narrow lead over Seher Atwal. The difference between the two is only IDR 3,425.
Meanwhile, veteran stars like Neha Tripathi and Saaniya Sharma will also be looking for a good finish at Chandigarh Golf Club, a course they are quite familiar with.
The course also includes six amateurs led by Avani Prashant, who has recently appeared at global events including the Asian Women’s Amateur Championship, World Amateur Team Championship and more.
