Pixel 6 Series Found To Have Screen Flickering Issues By Some Users

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are experiencing issues including screen flickering and an unexpected green cast effect, some affected users reported online. The problem is very noticeable and was only seen one day after the Pixel 6 series went on sale in the US.

Both new Google Pixel phones come with the company’s proprietary Tensor SoC and work with Android 12 out of the box. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also have artificial intelligence (AI) camera enhancements.

Many users have reported on Reddit about a jitter issue that occurs when they press the power button on the Pixel 6 Pro. The problem was also noticed by Android Police and was on one of their test devices. However, it’s not clear if the problem is with the regular Pixel 6 model as well, as most of the consumer complaints are related to the Pixel 6 Pro.

One of the affected users made a short video to reiterate the problem. Some users believe that the jitter is caused by the static electricity released from the phone when the power button is pressed.

Apart from the flicker issue, some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users have experienced a green cast effect that suddenly appears on the screen.

Another Twitter user reported that he saw the dual-hole design on the Pixel 6 Pro due to a bug. The user posted a video on the social media platform showing a secondary cutout, which may have been caused by some dead pixels on the screen.

Of all the reported complaints, it is not clear if the problem is caused by a faulty software or some hardware issue.

Gadgets 360 has contacted Google for comment on the matter and will update this section if the company replies.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launched last week. Both these new phones come with a customized Tensor SoC. The phone is also available in a new design which is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

After the official launch, Google confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the two new Pixel phones will not be releasing in India.
