Motorola is expected to launch two flagship smartphones in December. One is said to be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen8 flagship processor, the other by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC.
The latter was announced earlier this year and is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo Mobile Business Group, confirmed the arrival of the Motorola Edge X earlier this month. This model is said to be a gaming-oriented smartphone.
Chinese advisors went to the digital chat station Weibo to stop that Motorola would announce two flagships in November. One will likely have the Motorola Edge X while the other smartphone is unknown.
Tipster claims that one is powered by the flagship Snapdragon General 8 sound processor and the other is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC. The Motorola Edge X was expected to be powered by the Snapdragon General 8 flagship processor. It was previously rumored to be called the Snapdragon 898, but now the report claims it could be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC.
Tipster also claims that the launch price of a flagship with the Snapdragon 888+ SoC could be lower than the traditional flagship lineup, making it an attractive proposition.
The flagship name hasn’t expired yet, but it could be part of the Motorola Edge series if we take a look. The latest Edge series includes the Motorola Edge S Pro and Motorola Edge Lite.
In addition to the Motorola Edge X, renders and specifications for another flagship phone, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, were recently leaked, signaling its imminent launch. The phone has a punch-hole screen and three rear cameras.
Reports suggest that the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Motorola Edge X are similar phones and whatever that says the phones will likely have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate. The triple camera setup is said to have a 50-megapixel main sensor. The phone could have a 5000 mAh battery with 68W fast charging support.
