Linda Evangelista says body sculpting process left her disfigured

In the 1990s famed supermodel Linda Evangelista said she had become “brutally deformed” and “unrecognized” after a cosmetic body-sculpting procedure that turned her into a recluse.

“Today I have taken a huge step towards righting the wrong I have suffered and kept to myself for over five years,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“For my followers who have wondered why I’m not working out while my peers’ careers are thriving, it’s because Zeltic’s cool sculpting process mercilessly distorted me, which is what it promises. was the opposite.”

Ms. Evangelista, 56, said she developed paradoxical fat hyperplasia after the fat-freezing procedure, a side effect in which patients develop firm tissue masses in the treatment areas.

She said the cosmetic procedure left her “permanently disfigured even after undergoing two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries.” She said she was not told about the risk.

“PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deepest depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing,” she wrote. “In the process, I’ve become a recluse.”

Although a lawsuit was mentioned in Ms Evangelista’s Instagram post, it was unclear whether or where a lawsuit was filed.

According to CoolSculpting, the procedure has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of visible fat bulges.

According to the website of Allergan Aesthetics, a global pharmaceutical company whose brands include Cool Sculpting, this procedure can result in enlargement of the treated area for about two to five months after treatment, requiring surgical intervention to improve.

Neither Allergan Aesthetics nor the FDA immediately responded to a request for comment on Thursday.
