Koo offers to hire affected Twitter employees

NEW DELHI, Nov. 18 (IANS) — As new Twitter boss Elon Musk lays off employees in a series of layoffs, local microblogging platform Koo has offered to hire affected Twitter employees.

Koo offers to hire affected Twitter employees

Koo co-founder Mayank Bidawatka offered in a tweet on Friday to hire some of the former Twitter employees.

“So sad to see #RIPTwitterA and the accompanying # fail. We will be hiring some of these former Twitter employees as we continue to grow and build for our next bigger round,” Bidawatka tweeted.

“They deserve to work where their talents are valued. Microblogging is about empowering people, not bullying,” he added.

Earlier this month, Musk mercilessly laid off nearly half of Twitter’s 7,600 employees and closed several departments around the world, including India.

In addition, hundreds of employees recently resigned before a deadline set by Musk to either accept his “very tough” way of working or leave the company.

Meanwhile, Koo recently announced that it has become the second largest microblog available in the world.

Launched in March 2020, the platform recorded 50 million downloads and is showing an increasing trend in terms of growth.
