Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Riyatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and King Paramaisuri Agong Tunku Haja Aziza Amina Maimuna Iskanderia arrived in London for a special 10-day visit to England.
The State Palace said in a statement on its official Facebook profile today that a special plane carrying His Royal Highness landed at Luton Airport at 8pm. Friday (3am Saturday night in Malaysia).
Malaysia’s High Commissioner to the UK Zakri Jaffer and his wife Nor Ann Abdul Rahman were greeted on their arrival.
His Holiness will visit the Battersea Power Plant Project in London, the Malaysian High Commission at Belgrave Square and the Thun Abdul Razak Research Center in Brickdenbury, Hertford.
The itinerary includes a meeting between His Majesty and the Malaysian community in London.
Al Sultan Abdullah also had to attend the Sandhurst Gathering Dinner at the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst, where His Majesty studied between 1978 and 1979.
His Majesty will also meet with the UK’s Chief of Defense Sir General Nicholas Carter to discuss bilateral military cooperation between Malaysia and the UK.
Carter previously attended Sandhurst Royal Military Academy.
After a special visit, Her Majesty will return to London and must return home on 23 October.
This is His Majesty’s second special visit to England since he became Yang di-Pertuan Agong. First visit for seven days starting 9 December 2019.
Perak Sultan Sultan Nazreen Muizuddin Shah, who succeeds Yang di-Pertuan Agong, will serve as Yang di-Pertuan Agong while Al Sultan Abdullah is in England. – Barnam
