iQoo will launch the iQoo Z5 5G in India today, 27 September at 12pm. Prior to launch, the company featured a distracting design for the triple rearview camera. This new phone will replace the iQoo Z3 5G which was launched in India a few months ago. The new iQoo Z5 5G is now available in China. The India-specific model likely has something in common with its Chinese sibling. It is distributed through Amazon and affiliate channels. Here’s what we can expect before starting today.
The China-only iQoo Z5 5G features a larger 6.67-inch LCD display with Full HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR support. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, combined with an Adreno 642L graphics processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of main memory. This smartphone supports dual SIM cards and runs on Android 11 Origin OS 1.0 ex working.
Its triple rear view camera is housed in a rectangular module that receives a black coating. The rear view camera system of the iQoo Z5 5G has a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front there is a 16 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls that are punched out.
Other notable features include 5G, tri-band WiFi (2.4 GHz, 5.1 GHz, and 5.8 GHz), Bluetooth v5.2, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The IQoo Z5 5G has a 5000 mAh battery with fast charging support with 44W Flash Charge via the USB Type-C port. Prices in China start at 1899 CNY (approximately Rs 21,600) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option and go up to 2,299 CNY (approximately Rs 26,200) for the top 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. There is also 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage which costs 2,099 CNY (around 23,900 rupees).
Customers can choose between Blue Origin, Dreamspace and Twilight Morning color options. India-only options may have similar prices and inventory patterns. Currently, the price of the iQoo Z3 in India starts from Rp. 19,990 for the basic version with 6 GB of RAM and reaches Rp. 20,990 for the 8 GB RAM model.
