Avinash said, “There’s a lot more color when you play with shades of gray on the screen. I’ve always been attracted to characters who aren’t all pure or holy. I found different energies exploring layers of character.”

A writer-supported role was offered to Tiwari, even though she had never previously played a negative role. While the director was confident in throwing the actor against the grain, the actor set out to breathe fire into the role and, without hesitation, dove headfirst into territory he had never ventured before.

He went on to say, “The more morally depraved a character, the more joy it is for an artist to portray him. I never believed in playing it safe and I hope my choices reflect that.”

The actor who previously starred in the OTT film Bulbbul and the horror anthology Ghost Stories, both on Netflix, is returning to the streamer once again, this time making his serial debut with Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. by Neeraj Pandey.

The actor added that preparing for the role was not easy. ‚ÄúThis is a research-intensive role that requires investing many hours to thoroughly know the material. Obviously, every blow of this character must be studied to the core. The best thing about serializing is there is a lot more legroom to go into the depths of these characters’ personalities and souls.”

The series, based on the book “Bihar Diaries” by IPS officer Amit Lodha, launched on Netflix on 25 November.
